Stephen Appiah react to CAF’s directive for Ghana to play home games outside the country over non-standard stadiums

Former Captain of the National Male senior team, Stephen Appiah has responded to recent happenings in Ghana football.

It has been reported that the Confederation of African Football, CAF, has directed the Ghana football associationion to consider playing home games outside the country.

This was simply because of the terrible condition of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium when Ghana hosted Angola in a1-0 defeat.

Stephen Appiah described the possibility of CAF sending Ghana’s home matches to another country as an embarrassment.

He therefore charges all the authorities to prioritize and work together hardly for the country to have a standard pitch for CAF’s approval.

The Black Star’s recent outing as host to Amgola at the Baba Yara sports Stadium in Kumasi has been full of negativy.

Not only the result but the poor manner in which the pitch look is what many have been talking about.

It clearly looks like the pitch is not up to the standard even though it is the only approved Stadium for senior side official matches in the country.
