Four Ghanaian students arrested in the USA for using faking SHS transcripts to gain admission to Lehigh University

Four Ghanaian students, Otis Opoku, Evans Oppong, Cyrilstan Nomobon Sowah-Nai, and Henry Dabuo have reportedly been arrested in the USA for forging high school transcripts.

In a post by Graphic Online, these forged transcripts gained them admission to Lehigh University in Pennsylvania.

On how the school found out about the fake transcripts, one of the transcripts submitted by one of these four Ghanaians raised suspicion.

This led to the authorities of the school to begin investigations after which they found out related issues in the applications filed by the other three students.

From their forged transcripts, the University awarded them a “financial aid totaling $212,933, $127,213, and $129,244, respectively.”

Per report, these students have been charged with forgery and theft of services and are currently being held on $100,000 bail in Northampton County Jail and is awaiting “preliminary hearings set for September 24.”
