The billionaire revealed that as at the time he wanted to buy the football club, he equally had to use that money for completing his projects.
So obviously, there was no way he was going to buy the club for $2 billion and leave his project hanging at that time.
He told the interviewer, “the last time we had this interview I told you that, yes, as soon as I finished with the refinery, I’m going to try and buy Arsenal.”

“The issue is that, everything has gone up and the clubs too, they’re all doing well, Arsenal is doing extremely well.”
“I think I don’t have that kind of excess liquidity to go and buy a club for $4 billion and use it for promotional something so what I’ll do, I’ll continue to be the biggest fan of arsenal but I don’t think it makes sense today to buy Arsenal.”
“Actually I regret not buying the club before, but my money was more needed in completing my project than buying Arsenal.”
