15-year-old boy named Catholic Church’s first millennial saint by Pope Leo XIV

The catholic church just got a new saint. Carlo Acutis, a London-born teen has just been named the Catholic Church’s first millennial saint.

On Sunday, September 7, 2025, Pope Leo XIV canonized Carlos during an open-air Mass in St. Peter’s Square.

Carlos who died of leukemia at age 15 in 2006 was initially scheduled for canonization in April, but was delayed following the death of Pope Francis.

The ceremony was attended by over 80,000 pilgrims, mostly young people.

He was was mostly known as “God’s influencer.” He used his tech skills to spread Catholic teachings by creating a website documenting Eucharistic miracles.

More than a million people are estimated to have made a pilgrimage to the Italian hilltop town of Assisi where Carlo’s body lies, preserved in wax.
