On the evening of September 11, Utah’s Governor announced the arrest of the prime suspect in the murder of Charlie Kirk.
22-year-old Tyler Robinson was named as the main suspect in the death of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk on a Utah college campus.

According to the police, “a family member of Tyler Robinson reached out to a family friend who contacted the Washington County Sheriff’s Office with information that Robinson had confessed to them or implied that he had committed the incident.”
Surveillance footage showed Robinson arriving at UVU campus in a gray Dodge Challenger around 8:29 a.m. on the day of the shooting. He was seen wearing a maroon T-shirt, light shorts, a black hat, and light shoes.

It was later confirmed by a family member that Robinson owned a vehicle that matched the exact description.
Fox News Digital also captured a gray Dodge Challenger parked in the driveway of Tyler’s family home in Washington, Utah.

Before the shooting, the family recalls a dinner conversation where he told them Charlie Kirk was coming to UVU. They also discussed disagreement with Kirk’s views.
Police recovered the murder weapon a few blocks away from where he took the shot. It was wrapped in a dark colored towel.

Reports indicate it is a Mauser Model 98 .30-06 caliber bolt action rifle with a scope mounted on top of it. Inscriptions were also engraved on the casings found with the rifle.
Robinson attended Utah State University for one semester in 2021 before he left to join Dixie Technical College.

He was awarded USU’s Resident Presidential Scholarship, its highest scholarship. According to the school’s spokesperson, Robinson had no disciplinary record during his time at the university.
At the time of his arrest, he was a third-year student in the electrical apprenticeship program at Dixie Technical College.
