As police continue to build their case against the 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, recent developments seem to make the job easy for prosecution.

Authorities have recovered text messages between Tyler and his trans roommate who is also his girlfriend. The messages were sent after Charlie’s assassination.

Following Charlie’s death, Robinson’s roommate was interrogated by authorities. Initially stunned, the roommate responded, “What???????????? You’re joking, right????”

Robinson’s replied saying: “I am still ok my love, but am stuck in orem for a little while longer yet. Shouldn’t be long until I can come home, but I gotta grab my rifle still. To be honest I had hoped to keep this secret till I died of old age. I am sorry to involve you.”

The texts reveal Robinson admitting to retrieving a rifle from a drop point, lamenting how he had to stash it when police locked down the area.

He confessed: “I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out. If I am able to grab my rifle unseen, I will have left no evidence.”

Robinson’s planning appeared deliberate. “A bit over a week I believe,” he wrote when asked how long he had been preparing.

The messages also showed Robinson’s concern over fingerprints and his fear of losing his grandfather’s weapon, which he admitted leaving wrapped in a towel.

At one point, he directed his roommate: “Delete this exchange… don’t talk to the media please. Don’t take any interviews or make any comments. If any police ask you questions ask for a lawyer and stay silent.”

The roommate, overwhelmed, expressed concern: “I’m much more worried about you,” to which Robinson replied, “You are all I worry about love.”

Authorities eventually traced the weapon back to Robinson’s family after the FBI released a photo of the rifle, which Robinson admitted was “very unique.”

Robinson turned himself in shortly after, telling his roommate: “I’m gonna turn myself in willingly, one of my neighbors here is a deputy for the sheriff.”

Now in custody, Robinson faces mounting legal challenges. Utah Governor announced they will push for the death penalty.

President Trump also announced last week that he hopes the death penalty will be served.
