Ghana went through severe economic hardship due to a high rate of inflation, and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) crossed 90%.

Bond Holder, Pension and Retiree Funds, Small and Medium Enterprises, Commercial Banks, Financial Agencies, and the General Public were affected.

Blackson in 2025 has come out to disclose that he believes his outcry about the DDEP, which took away his $1 Million, caught the attention of the international media, and that caused the New Patriotic Party, NPP’s abysmal performance in the recent Ghanaian elections.

Even though DDEP was one of the reasons NPP lost, electorates who voted against the current opposition party were not just because of the Debt Restructuring alone, but the economic hardship which was evident before and after the DDEP, arrogance with power, failing to fulfil so many promises, and imposing taxes like E-levy and betting tax.

The actor maintains his stance that it was his influence that caused the New Patriotic Party’s Defeat.
