The headmaster of Prevailing Academy in the Western Region has been arrested for allegedly impregnating a student and covering it up by persuading a male student to falsely claim paternity.
Isaac Otchere, the headmaster of Prevailing Academy, was arrested on Monday following allegations of impregnating an underage final-year female student.

According to the EDHUB News, the incident came to light after the pregnant student’s condition could no longer be concealed.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Otchere, the headmaster of the school, allegedly engaged in a sexual relationship with the minor, who is below the age of consent under Ghanaian law.

The situation escalated when Otchere reportedly persuaded a male student to take responsibility for the pregnancy.
The Western Regional Police Command acted swiftly, apprehending the headmaster in the early hours of Monday.

Sources indicate that the arrest followed a complaint lodged by the student’s family, supported by medical evidence confirming the pregnancy.
The identity of the victim has been withheld to protect her privacy.

The arrest marks another disturbing case of sexual misconduct within Ghana’s school system which has been under scrutiny in the past weeks.
