Former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings Passes Away.

The wife of the late President, Flight Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, has reportedly passed away.
She died at age 76 after a short illness.

Nana Konadu dedicated her life to women’s empowerment in Ghana, Africa, and beyond.

Mrs Rawlings was Ghana’s First Lady from June 4, 1979, to January 7, 2001.

Nana Konadu was known for her outspoken nature and for empowering other women through her philanthropic works.

The Late President Rawlings was married to Nana Konadu from 1977 to 2020, when he sadly passed away. 5 years later, his wife is dead.
The tragic passing of the former first lady happened at Ridge Hospital on October 23, 2025, after a short illness at Ridge Hospital, Accra.

The two were the favorites of most Ghanaians because of how romantic they were in public. They danced together during public gatherings, and Jerry made sure the world knew how much he loved his wife.

They had fourd kids together, Zenator Rawlings, Yaa Asantewaa, Amina and Kimathi Rawlings

Former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings Passes Away.

She was seen as the “Hilary Clinton of Africa” after she filed her candidacy to become president in 2016, forming her own party, the National Democratic Party.

Nana’s last public appearance was at the Dote Yie of the Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, at the Manhyia Palace, Ashanti Region.

She was a Royal family member as the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is her cousin from paternal lineage
