Players who rejected Ghana Don’t deserve to go for World Cup 2026 – Ketu North MP, Edem Agbana

After the Football Giants of Africa, Black Stars of Ghana, have qualified for their fifth World Cup, and the circulating news is that there is a high tendency of new inclusions for the tournament.

Players who rejected Ghana’s call-up to represent the country during the qualifiers are now willing to play after making it to the World Cup 2026.

These players are now willing to switch nationalities to play for Ghana after their first choices rejected them.

According to Sports-Inclines personnel, the Ghana Football Association should put pride aside and add these players because they will bring enough quality to the team.

Nottingham Forest forward, Callum Hudson Odoi, born to Ghanaian parents in England, rejected Ghana’s call, hoping for a senior call-up from England after representing their youth sides, but after 3 games with the three Lions, he was never called again since 2019.

Eddie Nketiah, former Arsenal striker, now with Crystal Palace, also described his English call-up as a natural progression after rejecting Ghana on several occasions.

Unfortunately for him, he was dumped after just a game.

Francis Amuzu, born in Ghana and who moved to Belgium in his early days, once said the Ghana Football Association keeps calling his Agent, but he told him to decline with the hope of representing Belgium.

His dream never materialized despite playing for the Belgian Youth side, and now he has come out to say his heart is with Ghana and he would love to honor his father by playing for the motherland.

This matter was discussed in Ghana’s Parliament on October 24, 2026, and the member of Parliament for Ketu South, Edem Agbana, spoke the minds of many Ghanaian football lovers.

According to the lawmaker, the players who rejected Ghana when they were needed the most should count themselves out of the squad list for the World Cup 2026.

He said players who showed commitment and patriotism must be awarded, so the player who sacrificed should represent the country.
