The General Manager of Akonta Mining, Edward Akuoko, is ready to testify against his boss, Benard Antwi Boasiako, amid his court saga.
In the public eye, Mr. Akuoko’s move has been described as a betrayal that aligns with his personal interests, putting the NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, in danger.
According to the General Manager of Akonta Mining, the Attorney General, Dominic Ayine, convinced him to tell the truth he knows about the company’s illegality to clear his name in this matter.
He said after this conversation, he thought about his family and loved ones who would be hurt if he were jailed and decided to testify in court to be free.

Edward said Wontumi is a politician and can be granted a Presidential Pardon in the near future if he is jailed, but he knows no one and will rot in jail, hence the agreement to testify against Wontumi.
The General Manager sympathised with his CEO and disclosed that he wished the case would end soon and Wontumi would be free, but he would never shield himself and end up in jail because the first time he appeared at the CID office, he was neglected, and he learned his lesson.
