Anthony Joshua has been involved in a serious car acc!dent in Nigeria while holidaying in the country following his recent knockout victory over Jake Paul on December 19.

The incident occurred around 11 a.m. local time today, December 29, 2025, on the busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Makun, Ogun State, near the Danco Filling Station and Sagamu Interchange.
Joshua was a passenger in a Lexus SUV that was part of a two-vehicle convoy (along with a Pajero SUV carrying his security team).

The Lexus reportedly collided with a stationary truck, resulting in sévere dàmage to the vehicle. Joshua, who was sitting in the rear behind the driver, sustained only minor injuries and is currently responding to treatment.
Officials from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Ogun State traffic authorities were on scene managing the aftermath and investigating the cause of the crash.

According to reports, two occupants of the SUV died at the scene. Emergency responders attended to other survivors and secured the wreckage.
The incident comes just over a week after Joshua’s knockout victory over Jake Paul on 19 December 2025 in Miami.
