The Amasaman High Court has significantly cut the prison term of controversial televangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa.

The court reduced her 15-year sentence to 12 months after ruling that the original punishment was too harsh and disproportionate.
Agradaa was originally convicted on July 3, 2025, on charges of charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretences.

A Circuit Court in Accra handed her a 15-year sentence with hard labour just few weeks of trial.
Her legal team appealed the severe sentence, arguing it was excessive given the circumstances of her case.

On Thursday, February 5, 2026, the appellate court agreed, upholding her conviction but varying the custodial term to one year in prison.
The new term is still effective from the date of her original conviction on July 3, 2025.

The ruling means Agradaa will now serve a total of 12 months in jail for the offences, rather than the 15 years initially imposed.
