After spending 839 days behind bars and losing everything including his family, Dani Alves is allowed to walk free due to flaws in the evidence.
In February 2024, Dani Alves was accused of assaulting a woman in a Barcelona nightclub bathroom in 2022.

During that time, the football star lost everything. Sponsors like Puma severed ties, costing him millions.
He also faced lawsuits from several others including a $2.2 million claim from Pumas UNAM. His marriage to model Joana Sanz was destroyed and ended in divorce in 2024.

In the end, Dani Alves lost his $60 million net worth. At a point, part of his legal fees was covered by close friends like Neymar’s family.
On March 28, 2025, Catalonia’s High Court unanimously acquitted him after he spent 14 months in Brians 2 prison.

The court overturned Dani’s conviction ruling. The initial ruling had the player sentenced to 4.5 years in prison and ordered €150,000 in damages.
The court cited “flaws and inaccuracies” in the evidence. The Judges claimed there were inconsistencies in the accuser’s testimony and a lack of corroborating proof.

Despite the new developments, Alves’ accuser’s identity still remains private and protected. She also faces no court ruling or charges for the harm caused.
No reports show Alves filing suit against the accuser as of September 2025.
