Award-winning American Senegalese singer, Aliaune Damala Bouga Time, professionally known as Akon in the Global entertainment Industry, has shocked the world with the amount of money in his bank account as his wife, Tomeka Thiam, files for a divorce.
They married for 28 years, and had a daughter together, Journey Thiam, 17 years old as of September 2025.

Reports indicate that Akon, on numerous occasions, identified as a polygamist, allowing him to have affairs with a number of women that please him.
He is said to be involved with three different women aside from his wife, Tomeka, in Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Africa.
Akon has nine children in total with all his women.
In September 2025, his legal wife, Tomeka Thiam, filed for a Divorce, saying their relationship is beyond repair due to Akon’s constant cheating behavior and other factors that made her fall out of love.
Tomeka is seeking child custody of their minor daughter and a spousal support of €100,000,000 (Hundred Million Euros) from the singer because she helped him build his music empire from scratch, 28 years ago.
The total net worth of Akon, considering his assets, musical catalog, and lifestyle, is around $50-60 million, which is way below the alleged demands of his wife.
Things get heated up as reports indicate that they checked Akon’s Bank Account and found only $10k in it, putting all his money in her mother’s account, Kine Gueye Thiam, meaning he literally owns nothing.

The first person to show men the way was Moroccan International Achraf Hakimi, who plays for PSG, in April 2023, when his spouse, Hiba Abouk, wanted a huge share of his fortune.
