Former Member of the New Patriotic Party, NPP, Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten, has officially launched his party today, October 16, 2025.
Alan served as a Trade Minister under President Akufo-Addo from 2017 to 2023, when he decided to participate in the Flagbearership race of the NPP.

He picked his forms and campaigned heavily, but the unfortunate happened as he did not win. During the Presidential Primaries, there was a series of abuse towards his polling agents, and that was one of the reasons why he lost the race, according to him.
Out of 920 delegates, he had 95 votes, representing 10.33% finishing third, below Kennedy Agyapong, who had 132 votes, which is 14.35% while Bawumia had the most with 629, representing 68.37%.

He left the Party that had made him start his own journey on a new path.
Before the 2024 General Elections, Alan launched “Movement for Change” to help him participate in the general elections in 2024. He picked forms at the Electoral Commission office.
Alan was 13 on the ballot, where he accumulated 31,202 votes out of 11.4 million votes, representing 0.28%.
Alan John Kyerematen has finally decided to convert Movement For Change into an official party, which he named the United Party.
During his speech at the event, he said that if Ghanaians give him the mantle to lead Ghana in the next elections, Ghana will be a better place to live, and the country will be like Paradise, where there will be no sorrow.

Mr. Kyeremanten also disclosed that the United Party has come to unite all Ghanaians and promote the national interest with patriotism devoid of selfish interests.
Ending his speech, he said by 2040, he plans to make Ghana the economic powerhouse of Africa while ensuring peace, security, providing equal opportunities to all, not just some Ghanaians, and ensuring their continuous development.
