This shows how tolerant people have become and is making use of tolerance to bridge the gap between different religions, but a Nigerian Muslim teacher has shared his opinion of the situation and backed it with the Islamic Scriptures.
During an Islamic gathering, the cleric, in his sermon he noticed a new trend where his fellow Muslims are now joining Christians to celebrate Christmas.

According to the preacher, if any muslim does anything because of Christmas, that is against the will of Allah, and the person will go to Hellfire because he joined a celebration of another religion.
He described the new trend as Haram (unacceptable) in Islam.

The Imam said muslims who cook, wear fancy clothes or drink because it’s Christmas have sinned.
As a peaceful society with high rate of tolerance, during the Eid, Muslims shared food and meat for thir neighbours, including their Christian Friends and in this period, Muslims are expecting the favour in return but this speech of the preacher has discouraged many but a few are willing to eat the Christams food as far as it has no pork, dog and alcohol.

Some people believe it is high time religious leaders stopped using Heaven and Hell to threaten people and preach good morals because sermons like this divide the society.
