Yesterday at Apple Park in California, Apple unveiled its new set of iPhones. The event kicked off with Tim Cook hyping the lineup as their most ambitious yet.
Tim touched on Apple Intelligence updates briefly, but it stayed mostly device-focused—no big AI bombshells, just tying in iOS 26 features like better Siri integration.

Although the vibe was polished, some folks online called the keynote “boring” for lacking wow moments.
This year’s iPhone 17 lineup packs some solid upgrades this year. Apple released four new phones; the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The base iPhone 17 rocks a 6.3-inch 120Hz ProMotion display with anti-reflective coating for smoother scrolling and better outdoor visibility, a 24MP front camera, 48MP main rear sensor, the A19 chip, and a battery around 3,600mAh that should push past a full day easily. It starts at $799 with 128GB storage.

The iPhone 17 Air is the newest Apple invention. Known as the star for slim fans, it comes with a 6.6-inch screen, same A19 chip and 120Hz display, but just 5.6mm thick, a single 48MP rear camera (no ultrawide or telephoto), no stereo speakers, and a smaller 2,800mAh battery to keep it light, priced at $999.
The Pro models: iPhone 17 Pro (6.3-inch) and Pro Max (6.9-inch) get the A19 Pro chip, vapor chamber cooling to stay chill during heavy use, triple 48MP cameras with 8x optical zoom and 8K video, Wi-Fi 7, up to 12GB RAM, 256GB base storage, and huge batteries—over 5,000mAh on the Max for 39 hours of video playback. They start at $1,099 and $1,299, with aluminum frames for better heat dissipation.
They also unveiled AirPods Pro 3 with live translation and top-tier noise cancellation, Apple Watch Series 11 and Ultra 3 with new health sensors.

The release has had social media, especially X buzzing. From tech folks, reviewers, and everyday users, everyone is sharing their opinion on the new line of devices.
It’s a mix—some love the upgrades, but a lot are calling it underwhelming, especially on design and value.
Tech accounts like @durreadan01 call the iPhone 17 a “gamechanger” for everyday users, praising the 120Hz screen and battery as huge for the price, but say the Air is “stunning yet impractical” with its weak battery and no speakers—replies pile on like “who pays extra for thin over basics?”
