Former U.S. President Barack Obama has spoken out after a video shared online by President Donald Trump went viral.
The viral video depicted him and former First Lady Michelle Obama as apes — a portrayal widely condemned as racist.

During a sit-down interview with political commentator Brian Tyler Cohen, Obama addressed the broader political climate rather than focusing solely on the video itself.
He replied that although Trump’s behaviour gets attention, majority of the American people also find it troubling.

He also said there seems to be a “clown show” that is happening and unfolding in American politics.
Obama went on to suggest that the standard of conduct once associated with the presidency has eroded.

Obama did not directly engage in personal attacks but criticised what he described as the loss of decorum and seriousness in public office.
He implied that political discourse has shifted away from substantive debate toward spectacle and provocation.
