Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko presented North Korean leader Kim Jong Un with a VSK assault rifle during their meeting in Pyongyang.
The unusual gift was part of an exchange of presents between the two leaders during Lukashenko’s first official state visit to North Korea.

Lukashenko also handed over traditional Belarusian items, including a Slutsk belt, chocolates, and vodka.
“A soldier will always need small arms,” Lukashenko said while presenting the rifle.

According to video footage released by Belarusian state media, he added with a smile: “Just in case if enemies appear.”
Kim Jong Un reportedly showed keen interest in the weapon, closely examining it, asking about its specifications, miming aiming, pulling back the bolt, and even attempting to reload it.

Lukashenko reacted positively, jokingly adding that , “All right! Kim Jong Un knows how to use weapons.”
In the same gift exchange, Lukashenko presented Kim with a commemorative coin, stating “we must pay for weapons.”

Kim Jong Un reciprocated with symbolic gifts for Lukashenko, including a traditional sabre (sword), an ornate decorative vase bearing an image of the Belarusian leader, and a gold commemorative coin.
The gift-giving ceremony followed the signing of a bilateral friendship treaty between Belarus and North Korea.
