One of Ghana’s finest musical exports, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, passed away in July 2025, and there has been chaos in his family since then.
The feud started after he decided to sideline his first wife, Akosua Serwaa, claiming she divorced the singer by returning Schnapss, which was a symbol of their union, to the family.

Akosua Serwaa recently released a statement that Daddy Lumba left Germany 15 years ago for Ghana due to health complications. She tried to convince him to return because Germany was advanced in health technologies, but it did not work. So she heard rumors about Lumba having an affair with other women, hence the decision to leave the marriage, but Lumba did not reply.
Daddy Lumba and Akosua Serwaa met in Germany. He performed traditional rites as culture demands in 1992, and had a civil wedding in Germany on December 23, 2002.

During his stay in Ghana for the last 15 years before his demise, Lumba was with Priscilla Ofori-Atta, whom he affectionately called Odo Broni.
On October 15, 2025, Daddy Lumba’s junior Sister, Faustina Fosu, and Akosua Serwaa, have released a joint presser, petitioning the German Embassy in Ghana, The Federal Criminal Police Office in Germany, and the Ghana Police Criminal Investigations Department for investigations into his death, over three contradictory statements about the circumstances surrounding his demise.
The first account was given by an Eyewitness who said He called his friend to come to his house, but the friend was denied entry, and a few hours later, the friend got a call that Lumba had passed away.
The Second circumstance was the Police and Coroner reports, who states that Lumba complained of leg pains, so he was rushed to Sunshine Diagnostic Center for an MRI Scan, but was placed under anesthesia due to fear and was later transferred to Bank Hospital, where he died on 25th July, 2025.
Ms Priscilla O, as indicated in the petition, gave the last account where she told the family during their first meeting that the musician received an injection at Bank Hospital, which caused him severe pain before dying, and later she also said Lumba died at home. She cleaned him and called on one of her friends, Serwaa A, to help her convey his remains to Bank Hospital.

They are calling on the Ghana Police Criminal Investigation Department to invite Priscilla O, Lumba’s manager before his death, Mr. Philip Kwabena A (Roman Fada), to uncover the truth the led to his death.
Akosua Serwaa and her Children have already placed an injunction for the Highlife Legend’s Funeral scheduled for December 6, 2025, since October 9.
Lumba might have seen the future before dying. In his song “Makra Mo,” released in 1992, he advised his family not to fight after his demise, but unfortunately, it is happening in 2025.
