Davido: Biography of Nigerian Musician
The Name Davido needs no introduction to anyone associated to Music and despite being known for his stage Name, the singer’s official birth name is David Adedeji Adeleke.
Davido was born on November 21, 1992 Atlanta, Georgia, United States to his Nigerian parents making him a Nigerian-American National.
He grew through the ranks to become a popular musician and as it stands today, you can’t exclude the name Davido if you are looking at the top 10 Musicians available in the African continent.
Before gaining his current big act status, Davido burst into the scene after releasing “Dami Duro” which was his second single from his debut studio album Omo Baba Olowo in 2011, just a years after launching his music career.
Davido is currently not only a singer as many know him for, he is also record producer. He founded the record label Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), to which fast rising artists like Dremo, Mayorkun, and Peruzzi have all bern signed unto.
Davido’s hard work has fetched him uncountable musical recognitions in-terms of awards. In 2013, he won the Next Rated award at The Headies, a highly rated Nigerian award scheme.
He was adjudged the Best International act at the Black Entertainment awards in both 2014 and 2018 respectively, arguably his most important recognition at the very top.
