Cameroon is electing a new President to lead the country for the next seven years.
Polls were held on October 12, 2025, and the fierce contest is between Paul Biya of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement and Isaa Tchiroma Bakary of Front for The National Salvation of Cameroon.

Other parties are contesting, but they are not a threat to the incumbent, Biya.
Akere Tabeng Muna of Univers Partey, Cabral Libii representing Cameroon Party for National Reconcilation, Joshua Osih of Social Democratic Front, Bello Bouba Maigari on the ticket of National Union for Democracy and Progress, and Hermine Patricia of Cameroon Democratic Union.

The official results are yet to be known as of October 15, 2025, three days after voting ended.
The highlight of this election is an electoral officer who got a swift response for manipulating figures for a certain candidate with the aim of rigging.
An electorate that volunteered to verify the numbers gave him a dirty slap he might never forget in his entire life.

Election rigging is one of the reasons why most African leaders have been in power for long, and no matter how hard the opposition tries to oust them, they fail because, in the long run, figures will be manipulated.
92-year-old Paul Biya has led Cameroon for 43 years, and he’s looking forward to serving for another 7 years.
The Biggest Opposition leader, Issa Tchiroma, has already declared himself the winner even before the official results are announced.
