Excavator operator release video of police officers arriving at Galamsey site to receive their share of 20,000 to allow them continue work

An excavator operator who is working at an illegal mining site has shown a video of a group of armed policemen arriving at the site in a pickup vehicle.

You may be thinking their purpose at the site is to halt the illegal mining activities but no the officers have different ideas.

According to the operator, the group of officers arrived at the site to receive what they termed as ‘chop money’ before they are allowed to continue with their activities.

He added that another group of policemen also visited the site for an amount of GHS 20,000 a day before the arrival of these policemen.

The fight against illegal mining in the country is fast gaining momentum but then the attitude of some officers deployed to guard the sites isn’t going to help matters.
