FBI places a $10,000 bounty for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Nigerian national who has been on the run for over 20 years

The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has renewed its efforts to capture a Nigerian national who has evaded U.S. authorities since 2001.

Olumide Adebiyi Adediran has evaded U.S. authorities for nearly 24 years. The agency is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to his arrest and conviction.

Adediran is charged with multiple offenses tied to alleged schemes going back to 2001 in Illinois, including bank fraud, identity document fraud, and unauthorized credit card transactions 

According to the FBI, in August 2001, he attempted to withdraw funds from a bank in Champaign, Illinois, using a fraudulent check.

He also is accused of using stolen personal data from U.S. citizens to open bank and charge accounts. 

Adediran fled Illinois in December 2001, just before his trial was set to begin, and a federal arrest warrant was issued on January 2, 2002.

Adediran is described as approximately 5′11″, weighing 200 lb, with black hair and brown eyes. He is known to have ties to South Florida. 

He uses multiple aliases including Kevin Olumide Adediran, Eric O. Williams, Maxo Alexandre, Olumide Adkins, Edward N. Anderson, and others.

The FBI is urging anyone with credible information to contact a local FBI office or the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate. Anonymous tips may also be submitted online.
