Ghanaians on Twitter slightly slams Asamoah Gyan after recalling his penalty miss 11 years ago that might have led Ghana to win the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
On July 2nd of every year since 2010 seems to have become one of the memorable days in the life of every Ghanaian.
This is because, exactly 11 years ago on July 2, 2010, top Ghanaian football legend, Asamoah Gyan missed a penalty in the dying seconds of extra time against Uruguay during the 2010 FIFA world cup in South Africa.
If scored, Ghana would have become the first African national football team to qualify to the world cup semi-finals, as well as standing a chance to win the world cup.
Due to this, Asamoah Gyan has suffered a lot of humiliations and trolls in the hands of most Ghanaians even up to date.
Despite the disappointments that penalty miss had caused, Asamoah Gyan is of no doubt, the most celebrated striker and goal scorer in the history of Ghana football.
