Ghana’s Joseph Paul Amoah wins 200 meters bronze at the Commonwealth Games

Amoah came in third place in the final in 20.49 seconds, and the announcer dubbed it “the run of his lifetime.” His first Commonwealth medal, in fact.

Amoah’s medal is Ghana’s first men’s 200-meter victory at an Olympic competition since 1974.

With a fantastic Games record and a personal best time of 19.80 seconds, Jereem Richards of Trinidad successfully defended his championship.

Before finding that spectacular extra gear to cross the finish line, he was neck-and-neck with second-placed Zharnel Hughes of England.
