He fused the lifestyle of the streets and struggles of Ghanaian youth to put out great records, which broke boundaries by going beyond Ghana and Africa.

In all this, the music was gaining huge numbers on all streaming platforms from Apple Music to YouTube, Spotify, and Audiomack, so the general notion was that the entertainer was earning a great living.

Ground Up Chale and Kwesi Arthur had a silent fallout in late 2020 and the beginning of 2021, but the main reason was never known to the public until recently.

Music lovers were constantly bashing Arthur for not dropping songs like he used to, but in all this, he remained silent, waiting for the right to address the issue.

Finally, he has narrated his ordeal on X (formerly known as Twitter).

On January 21, 2026, he posted a note with some deep revelations about his career and how it has ruined him.

According to the piece, Kwesi Arthur, as an individual, has never earned a dime from his works since 2016. After he signed for Ground Up Chale, he left the label in the latter part of 2021 and decided to go solo, and that’s where things got messier than expected.

Glen Boateng, the highest authority at the Ground Up Record Label, and all the team members are constantly threatening Kwesi Arthur not to use his own image for anything that involves music.

After months of complaining, he dropped a record “Redemption Valley” and after Glen and his team saw that, they are currently working tirelessly to bring it down as they request $150,000 from Kwesi Arthur to allow him use his own image and bring out his songs.
