“He Walked Straight At Me And Gave Me Six Slaps”- Professor Joshua Alabi Narrates his story

Gone are the days when our seniors had the power and the right to correct us when we faulted but now it seems those rights are no more.

An aspiring flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress and a former minster of State for Greater Accra, Professor Joshua Alabi has revealed what transpired between him and his Sport master during senior high school days.

Speaking on Joynews program ‘PM Express’ on the 11th of June 2021, the ex first vice chancellor of UPSA disclosed that his sports master walked up to him at Tamale Senior high school and gave him six hefty slaps for an unintentional elbowing him in a basketball training.

Per the rules of basketball, nobody tackles his opponent from behind but the sports master who was not good at playing the game did so whiles he was bouncing the ball. Unfortunately, his elbow hit his mouth hard and injureded him.

He continued, ” I didn’t know he took offence from it. One day we had a football match and he went into the field and the students started hooting at him. I didn’t hoot at him. He looked at the crowd and walked straight at me and gave me six slaps.”

He added that the guys around him told the teacher he wasn’t hooting at him, but he told them that he understands why he did that to him.
