TITHING EXPRESSES FAITH
Tithing and giving offerings does not buy God’s blessings, but it does release His blessings upon our lives. “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of Heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be enough be room enough to receive it.” Malachi 3:10
Those who tithe are expressing their faith in God in the most practical way possible. They are saying, “I believe the 90 percent that I have left after tithing, has God’s blessing on it. With God’s blessing, the 90 percent can purchase more than the 100 percent would, without His blessing.”
It takes faith to believe that.
God allowed His people to tithe money, oil, wine, flour, fruit, wood, animals, and other possessions.
The conditions for which God gave this command to the nation of Israel are still the same today. There are men and women who God has called to His service full-time like the Levites and priests of old.
They are supposed to do no other work. There is the need that they are provided for. It is from the provisions of the tithes that this can be.
True children of God do not question or debate the clear instructions of God.
They simply obey. It is this simple obedience that attracts the blessings of God. A tithe is ten percent of our income. We must be regular and consistent in our giving as well. As long as God keeps blessing and providing for us, we must keep giving back to Him and His work.
Pastor William Forolunso Kumuyi of the general overseer of Christian Deeper life ministry has emphatically made some bold statements to his church members. He has warned them to return their tithes and offerings should they continue in their sinful nature.
The renowned preacher opined that God does not like any money from a sinner. He added anyone who is a sinner and keeps paying his tithes is simply wasting his money and the church will return it.
