Man arrested for operating a “clinic” in his chamber and hall room for over 12 years without a medical licence

For over 12 years, he put the health of the people in his community in jeopardy just because he wanted to eat. What has this world come to?

48-year-old Hanson Osei has been arrested by the Ghana Police after investigations revealed he was running an unauthorized clinic in his house.

For over 12 years, Hanson had the supposed clinic running from his chamber and hall without any license or permit.

The raid happened in Yeji Zongo, a in Ghana’s Bono East Region, where Osei had quietly built a reputation as a doctor.

During his interrogation, he boldly admitted to treating people without any training from a recognised medical school.

The investigations also revealed a dilapidated room which appears to be where in-patients are made to sleep.

The room falls below the normal hospital setting with two dirty mattresses and the room itself is nothing to write home about.

Others like syringes, stethoscope, drips, and a worn exam table squeezed between furniture were located as well.

Over those 12-plus years, he handled everything from routine checkups to emergencies without any aid from a professional.

Osei faces charges for operating an unlicensed health facility, a serious offense under Ghana’s Medical and Dental Council regulations that could land him years behind bars and hefty fines.
