Man Living in Abroad Narrate How He Overlooked Ghana to Donate Fresh Hospital Equipment to Nigeria because Of Payment of Port Duty


A Ghanaian man on twitter Osei Kufuor has shared his experience about how frustrating it is to help Ghana.

This morning, Citi Fm Morning Show were discussing the flaws in the Healthcare system in Ghana.

This was inspired by the death of a young promising boy age 13 who was diagnosed of brain tumor but had to die after a surgery was done to him at Korle Bu teaching Hospital.

Speaking on the show this morning Miss Cordelia Ama Serlomey who is the mother of the late Michael Kofi Asiamah Who was only 13 years old shared her horrific experience at Ghana’s premier hospital Korle Bu.

Lack of surgery equipment among others were cited as some of the flaws in Ghana hospital.

Reacting to the issue on twitter Mr Osei Kufuor Said he was forced to relinquish hospital equipment he wanted to donate to Ghana because when he contacted the Ministry of health, they tasked him to pay port duties.

He turned to Nigeria to give them the equipment and they accepted it without asking him to pay a penny.

His narrative forms part of the many stories of how Some Ghanaians are frustrated by the System by not donating relief items to Ghana from Abroad.
