An innocent man identified as Maurice Hastings, who was wrongfully accused of murder and sexual assault, has been set free after decades of investigations.
In 1983, Maurice was falsely accused of 2 heinous crimes, which shattered his world, and since there was a wrongful investigation, he was unable to prove his innocence and was thrown behind bars in Inglewood, California, USA.
In 2022, approximately 39 years later, it was revealed that the this crime was linked to Kenneth Packneth, who turns out to be a serial rapist, and this was achieved with the help of DNA.

While in Prison, Hastings was still demanding justice since 2000, but his plea was considered in 2022, according to reports.
This unfair administration of Justice was caused by a systematic failure in the judicial system, where people are wrongfully accused, and since the Police don’t take the time to investigate, most innocent people are always sentenced for a crime they know nothing about.

This case has exposed the Police in Inglewood, California, and the DA who was in charge of the case decades ago for doing a poor job.
The $25 million is still small to most people because this money will never bring back his youthful age and happiness he had as a young man when his freedom was curtailed.
The Major question most people are asking is, who will pay for this wrongful conviction? The victim who lied? Or the Inglewood Police Department, which didn’t do a good job?
