MP for Effutu Constituency hands over new Police Headquarters to Ghana Police service


The Inspector-General of Police, Mr James Oppong-Boanuh has commissioned a new facility at Ateitu, a suburb of Winneba in the Central region of Ghana as the District Police Headquarters for Effutu North.

The new facility also houses the New Winneba Police Station and according to the service This is the third police facility built by the Member of Parliament for the Effutu Constituency, Hon. Alexander Afenyo Markin and handed over to the Police Administration within a year.

Reports also indicates Another police facility nearing completion is also being built by the MP in his constituency with his main aim of attracting more security personnels in the constituency to deal with the security challenges residents are facing.

Handing over the facility, Hon. Afenyo Markin implored the police administration to combat crime with professionalism in order to achieve the high demanding level of security in the country.

IGP Oppong-Boanuh expressed gratitude to the MP, the Municipal Assembly and the Chiefs and people of Effutu for the relentless commitment to address security needs of the expanding population.

He also appealed to community members to foster good relations with the police.
