Netizen Question Chief Justice’s decision to present himself to CID ahead of CHRAJ and Parliament amid $5m Bribery Allegation
Social commentators are not happy with the Chief Justice petition CID to investigate on allegations of a five Million United states Dollar Bribery.
Ghanaians were left dumbfounded when a man identified as Ogyeedom Obranu Kwesi Atta IV alleges Chief Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah demanded a $5m amount for a favorable judgement in a pending case at the Supreme court.
This strong allegation as expected, drew massive reactions from Ghanaians and one that is not good looking to the image of the Chief Justice hence his efforts to clear his name out if it.
He took a major step in doing that by writing to the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service to investigate the claim against him.
“To ensure that this matter is fully investigated, His Lordship has directed that a formal complaint be made to the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service for investigations and any necessary action. He has further directed that a Petition be lodged with the Disciplinary Committee of the General Legal Council in respect of this specific matter.” Part of his letter signed by the Judicial Secretary, Justice Cynthia Pamela Addo stated.
But this move is just some sort of mind game by the Chief Justice according to a Twitter user who stated that if he really want to redeem his tarnished image, he should have petition either CHRAJ or a parliamentary committee to do such investigations against him instead.
