Nigerians Flood Ghanaian Referee, Daniel Laryea’s Comments Section After Morocco Beat Them On Penalties

The most thrilling and fun-packed continental tournament, the African Cup of Nations, also known as AFCON, is currently taking place in Morocco, where Nigeria lost to the host nation.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria were one step away from reaching the finals. Still, unfortunately, their dream could not be actualised after The Atlas Lions of Morocco beat them 4-2 on penalties after they played 120 minutes without either side finding the back of the net.

Before the game, Nigerians started speculating that the Confederation of African Football, CAF, is doing all it can to make Morocco win the ongoing tournament.

They claim to have had a point, but it was also a way to pin the results on the officials if it did not go their way.

  • Fourth Official: Arsenio Chadreque Maringule (Mozambique)
  • Video Assistant Referee (VAR):ย Abongile Tomย (South Africa)
  • Assistant VAR: Haythem Guirat (Tunisia) and Stephen Yiembe (Kenya)
  • Referee Assessor: Lydia Tafesse Abeb

According to Nigerians, a Ghanaian referee was not supposed to officiate their match against Morocco because of the jollof war and little rivalry.

Referee Dainel Laryea’s social media comment section has been flooded with abusive language and curses from Nigerians after they lost the match.

In the last AFCON, Nigeria lost 2-1 in the finals against the host nation, the Ivory Coast, so they wanted to make amends by winning this ongoing tournament, but it did not happen.

The Ghanaian referee’s official Instagram account has been suspended after numerous reports from aggrieved Nigerian supporters, and the insults and curses never cease.
