Omanhene Of New Dwaben, Daasebre Oti Boateng in the Eastern Region reported dead; More details


The overlord of new Dwaben Daasebrɛ Oti Boateng, Dwaben Foforom Manhene, has passed on to eternity to join his ancestors. His sudden demise occurs after a successful 29 years reign.

The revered ruler took over from his late brother Daasebre Kwamu Boateng in the year 1992.

The 83 years old until his death was the Eastern Regional House of chiefs for two successful period and also a blood brother of Asante Juabeng.

He had his senior high school schooling at Konongo Odumase Senior High School and furthered to University of Ghana where he attained a Bachelor of Science and BSC in degree in Economics.

The brilliant student continue his studies abroad at the London School of Economics and Political Science from which he earned a Masters degree in statistics.

Increased learning took him to a different University, the University of Liverpool, London

Also, he studied for Doctor of Philosophy, PhD degree in Statistics in University of Liverpool, United Kingdom.

Daasebrɛ from 1982 to 2000, performed as the Ghanaian Government statistician and head of the Statistical Service servicing for 17 solid year’s.

Other positions he held included the position of Senior Research Fellow and subsequently Director of Studies at the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER).

The first black chairman to be elected to represent as the United Nations Statistical commission in 1983 and the chairman of the 25th International Conference of Labor statistician which was organized in Switzerland precisely Geneva in 1993.

The key member of the International civil services commission at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

In Ghana, he was honored as the Chancellor of All nations university in Koforidua, a technological university in the Eastern Region until his demise. May the Overlord rest in perfect peace.
