His manifesto launch did not get the buzz like the two above-mentioned political parties and it is something that troubled Sadick Adams considering the cries of Ghanaiana to establish a third force to rival NDC and NPP.

According to him, many Male Ghanaian youths were so focused on watching a football game between Spanish giants, Real Madrid and Real Betis

On the part of the ladies, he believed they were also fully focused on watching Big Brother Naija instead of paying attention to an aspiring candidate’s manifesto.

“Ghana Youth say you want a third force.Cheddar is speaking on all platforms about his 12 Pillars of Transformation.Ghana Youth. The boys are watching Real Betis v Madrid & the girls watching Big Brother Naija. You people will continue to suffer paaa.” he wrote on X.

Break down of the “12 Pillars of Economic Freedom” of the New Force  by leader H. E. Nana Kwame Bediako

0

Nana Kwame Bediako’s “12 Pillars of Economic Freedom” serves as the foundation of his vision for transforming Ghana’s economy and governance.

Break down of the "12 Pillars of Economic Freedom" of the New Force  by leader H. E. Nana Kwame Bediako

Here’s an in-depth look at each of these pillars:

  1. Resource-Based Economy
  • Analysis: Bediako’s first pillar focuses on maximizing the use of Ghana’s natural resources. The plan involves tapping into the country’s vast mineral wealth, including gold, iron ore, bauxite, lithium, and other resources.

This approach aims to transition Ghana from a primarily import-based economy to a resource-driven one, which would increase self-sufficiency and economic independence.

  • Explanation: By investing in industrial plants and refineries within Ghana, the goal is to process these raw materials domestically rather than exporting them in their unrefined state. This would create more jobs, enhance value addition, and boost exports.
  1. Job Creation
  • Analysis: Job creation is central to Bediako’s vision, with a goal of creating 8 million jobs over the next decade. This would be achieved by developing the industrial and agricultural sectors and boosting entrepreneurship.
  • Explanation: By revitalizing dormant regions and promoting investments in new industries, this pillar seeks to address unemployment and underemployment, especially among the youth.
  1. Regional Development – Analysis: This pillar emphasizes the equitable development of all 16 regions in Ghana. It involves identifying the unique economic potentials of each region and creating tailored development projects.
  • Explanation: For instance, regions rich in minerals will see the establishment of mining and refining facilities, while agriculturally rich regions will benefit from agro-processing industries. The idea is to ensure balanced economic growth and reduce regional disparities.
  1. National Sovereign Wealth Fund
  • Analysis: Bediako proposes the creation of a National Sovereign Wealth Fund to manage revenues generated from natural resources. This fund would ensure that resource wealth is reinvested into the economy, providing long-term financial stability.
  • Explanation: The fund would be used for infrastructure projects, education, healthcare, and other critical areas, ensuring that the benefits of resource extraction are felt across the country.
  1. Lean Government
  • Analysis: Bediako advocates for a leaner government structure with only 12 ministries. This approach is designed to reduce bureaucracy, increase efficiency, and lower the cost of governance.
  • Explanation: A streamlined government is expected to make quicker decisions and focus more on implementation than administration, which would lead to faster economic progress.
  1. Education and Innovation
  • Analysis: Investment in education and innovation is seen as crucial for driving Ghana’s economic transformation. This pillar involves revamping the educational system to align it with industry needs and fostering a culture of innovation.
  • Explanation: The focus would be on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, vocational training, and research and development to create a skilled workforce capable of driving industrialization and technological advancement.
  1. Infrastructure Development
  • Analysis: Bediako emphasizes the need for modern infrastructure to support economic activities. This includes the construction of roads, railways, ports, and energy facilities.
  • Explanation: By improving infrastructure, the plan is to reduce the cost of doing business, improve connectivity within the country, and attract foreign investments.
  1. Agricultural Transformation
  • Analysis: Recognizing agriculture as the backbone of the Ghanaian economy, this pillar focuses on modernizing agricultural practices and increasing productivity.
  • Explanation: The strategy involves providing farmers with access to modern equipment, irrigation, and high-quality seeds, as well as developing agro-processing industries to add value to agricultural produce.
  1. Health and Social Welfare
  • Analysis: Bediako plans to enhance the healthcare system and expand social welfare programs to ensure that all Ghanaians have access to basic services.
  • Explanation: This includes building more hospitals, improving healthcare delivery, and expanding social safety nets to protect vulnerable populations.
  1. Environmental Sustainability
  • Analysis: Environmental sustainability is a key consideration in Bediako’s vision.

This pillar focuses on responsible resource extraction and the protection of Ghana’s natural environment.

  • Explanation: The plan includes reforestation, pollution control, and the promotion of renewable energy sources to ensure that economic development does not come at the expense of the environment.
  1. Tourism and Culture
  • Analysis: Bediako seeks to develop Ghana’s tourism sector by promoting the country’s rich cultural heritage and natural attractions.
  • Explanation: This would involve improving tourism infrastructure, marketing Ghana as a premier tourist destination, and leveraging cultural festivals and heritage sites to attract international tourists.
  1. Good Governance and Accountability
  • Analysis: The final pillar focuses on strengthening governance and ensuring accountability in the use of public resources.
  • Explanation: This involves implementing anti-corruption measures, promoting transparency, and ensuring that government officials are held accountable for their actions.

The aim is to build trust in government institutions and ensure that development benefits all Ghanaians.

These 12 pillars represent a comprehensive roadmap for transforming Ghana’s economy and society.

Bediako’s approach is to leverage the country’s existing resources while ensuring sustainable and inclusive growth.
