Silence makes one appears wise and knowledgeable – Sam George Claps Back at Rev. Ntim Fordjour

Two Lawmakers in Ghana’s Parliament, Honorable Sam George and Reverend Ntim Fordjour, are at odds over the age limit for military enlistment.

Recently, the member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana, Honorable Sam George, suggested that the age bracket for recruiting citizens into the military, which is from 18-25, should be extended to 30 or at most 35 because there are energetic citizens within that age bracket who are healthy enough to serve the country well.

People who are willing to join the military despite crossing the age limit finally had someone who would side with them.

Unfortunately, that opinion did not age well, as the Member of Parliament for Assin South in the Central Region of Ghana, Honorable John Ntim Fordjour, Ranking Member, Defense and Interior Committee, has replied to this statement from the Minister of Communication and Digitalization that he wants the Ghana Armed Forces to recruit NDC Party footsoldiers because their party is in power.

Sam George didn’t take this lightly as he clapped back at his colleague for saying NDC footsoldiers will be the sole benefactors should that suggestions of his is considered

Mr. George said people above 30 who are willing to join the Ghana Armed Forces are citizens, but his fellow is making a big issue out of it and making his statement a political one.

The Lawmaker described his colleague as someone who looks knowledgeable when quiet but spews unwise words when he starts to talk.

This statement from the Minister has stirred different reactions as people say he is not supposed to be this harsh when people counter his opinion.
