Special Prosecutor purchased 2 Armoured Cars worth ¢3.5 Million – Paul Adom Otchere

The Office of the Special Prosecutor, headed by Kissi Agyebeng, has been dragged through the mud for secretly purchasing two expensive security cars to carry out his duties.

Paul Adom Otchere, the host of Good Evening Ghana on Metro TV, made this bold claim and subsequently criticized him.

The OSP organized a presser during the past government administration to complain about government interference in its duties, making it hard to prosecute corrupt leaders and citizens.

He shed some tears, and he expressed his displeasure with the bully toward him.

According to the Journalist, that drama during his press conference was just a shenanigan to get public sympathy instead of delivering on his mandate.

Paul criticized the Special Prosecutor for writing to the finance ministry that he wanted 2 armored vehicles worth 3.5 million Cedis, equivalent to 326,751.98 United States Dollars.

The cars are an Armoured Mercedes S500 worth 2 Million Cedis and an Armored BMW 750 worth 1.5 Million Cedis.

His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo established the office of the special prosecutor in 2018 to combat the high rate of corruption in government offices. Former Attorney General, Martin Amidu, was the first OSP, but he resigned in 2020, complaining of government interference, which makes it difficult to press charges against Corrupt appointees.

Kissi Agyebeng took over and has also been complaining of the same problem.

According to Paul, Kissi is not at the office to fight for the taxpayers but rather to enjoy luxury until he leaves the office.

It has been rumored that the current special prosecutor plans to resign, but the journalist says he should return the two cars he bought, and the auditor general must conduct a thorough investigation into his spending.
