Gabby Otchere Darko, a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP, the biggest opposition party in Ghana, has boldly informed his party members that they should stop apologizing to Ghanaians too much, as they might lose confidence.
He had no appointment in the Party during the Akufo-Addo Bawumia administration, but as the President’s Cousin, he was a key strategist in the NPP. He helped shape the party’s message that won hearts in the 2016 and 2020 elections.

During a meeting with an NPP branch in the Diaspora, he urged the party members not to feel too remorseful when speaking with the party base and Ghanaians at large, to avoid ruining their chances of winning power again in 2028.
He stressed that the Members of Parliament and government appointees of the previous administration can admit that they made some mistakes while ruling the people, but they should not forget to tell Ghanaians what they did in the last 8 years.

Gabby said the party must be humble in front of the people, but they should let it be known that the last NPP government completed more roads than any government, the NPP improved the health sector, the security and agriculture sectors more than any government.

He disclosed that when they apologize too much, the confidence of the party will diminish and affect them heavily, so instead of feeling too sorry, though they made mistakes, they should rather preach their good deeds to the people.
