Ghanaian Afro-Dancehall artist Stonebwoy released an EP on September 9, 2025, and one song shook the internet.

According to people who like reading meaning, there’s one song in particular that was dedicated to his biggest rival, Shatta Wale, a dancehall artist who was arrested by the Economic and Organised Crime Office.

Before the EP’s release, the EOCO had already seized Shatta Wale’s yellow Lamborghini and put him in custody for days because the car was affiliated with a hit and run in the USA, and Shatta was the third owner, making him an indirect accomplice by using a stolen car.

This news was global due to Wale’s Stardom.

He later admitted that he bought the car for $150,000 from the “street,” so he has no valid documentation of the purchase, even though EOCO had evidence that he bought the car from Adu Boahen, a Ghanaian Politician who is under investigation for embezzlement of funds.

All the incidents above were before the EP when it came out, there was a song titled “DEEPER” with a line that goes “my property no golock for EOCO” and this was seen as a jab amidst Shatta’s popular yellow Lambo saga.

In an interview with a Ghanaian content creator who normally breaks down music and reacts to trending topics in very different ways, Code Micky, Stonebwoy disclosed that the EP was submitted to distributors 1 month before the release, and so that EOCO line isn’t a jab to anyone but an inspiration he got while making the record.

This statement has stirred reactions, as some say he enjoys the beef between himself and Shatta, so he decided to fuel it; some say he wanted to use Shatta’s problem to promote his EP.
