The system is working: Gas station manger who accidentally priced a gallon at 69 cents fired
After making a mistake and pricing petrol at 69 cents a gallon, a gas station manager has lost his job.
According to ABC News, John Szczecina was fired from his manager position at a Shell gas station in Rancho Cordova after misplacing the decimal point, giving drivers the impression that the gas was cheaper than it actually was. The gas was going to be $6.99 a gallon, it turns out.
The manager, Szczecina said, “I put all three prices on there, except the diesel. The last one kind of didn’t go. So, I just took responsibility for it and said yeah, it’s my fault.”
The error is said to have cost the gas station $16,000 since cars took advantage of the opportunity to save money on gas.
