After going viral and addressing the issue in 2021, Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage, has once again opened up on how her tape got out.
In an interview on The Breakfast Club, Tiwa Savage revealed how the whole thing happened and how it affected her and her loved ones.

Tiwa stated that the person in the video was her boyfriend at the time and she was not even aware she was being recorded until it came out.
The boyfriend told her that she was trying to save the video on Snapchat when he mistakenly pressed send instead.
It was later she found out that he had made a bet with his friends and the act was deliberate and not a mistake as he told her.

However, people still backlashed her because they thought it was immoral and dirty although some of them do worse than what she did.
Tiwa recounted how painful the whole experience was especially the effect that trickled down to her son and her parents.
“It was painful for me. It was really painful because they put my son into it, that I was an unfit mom,” Tiwa Savage recounted.

She added that at a point people referred to her a bad mother because of the video as they believed his son will grow up and see it.
Tiwa added that her mom was her biggest source of support in those times. She recounted the moment her mom called and told her how happy she was that she was “enjoying herself.”

“It was traumatic because he was my boyfriend, I thought we were in a relationship and I’m hearing later it was a bet,” the singer added and emphasised she was never going to meet anyone in a hotel.
“The person was my boyfriend at the time. He said he wanted to save the video but pressed send by accident. I later found out it was a bet with his friends”
