Yaw Tog insists Sore is his rightful song and verses from Asakaa boys came out of love
Fast rising Ghanaian Rapper, Yaw Tog has once again detailed his relationship with Fellow Kumasi based Rappers Asakaa boys.
Recall that Yaw Tog has received variable backlashes from Ghanaians following accusations that he abandoned his friends (Asakaa boys) specifically O’Keneth and Regie who both played a major role in his breakthrough song titled Sore.
His decision to recruit Kwesi Arthur and Stormzy and exclude both Reggie and O’Keneth for the remix even made things worse for him with many believing he sidelined them to take the shine alone.
But this is entirely not the case according to the man himself who stated clearly the song fully belongs to him and as a result he is the one to be contacted for interviews or any gig relating to the song.
Speaking in an Interview
“I am not taking the shine. When the ‘Sore’ song dropped, everyone’s name went up. The song is for me. So people would be calling me for interviews. Not them. We all got that limelight that we are living up.” He said
Speaking about how the song came about and his his current relationship with the Asaaka boys, Yaw Tog stressed that he brought the hook when he visited their studio and the respective rappers spit their verses on it.
He also made it clear that he has no issues with them and will forever be grateful for their support because recoding of the song came out of the love and support they have for each other but also stated emphatically they had no intention of forming a group and that is that.
“It was just love. They showed me, love, from day one. I went to their studio, I brought the hook. Everyone did his verse, and we shoot the video. So it was just love.” He added
Yaw Tog made a this known during an interview with Mz Gee on TV3 NewDay.
