Portia wore a black gown to the ceremony. However, her dress always revealed her figure, showing her protruding backside and drawn in between the cheeks.

Posts on social media reflect the polarized public sentiment. One user on X wrote, “Ghanaians BLAST actress PORTIA ASARE for the dress she wore to pay tribute to the 8 government officials,” accompanied by a link to an image of Asare at the event.

Another user, @ObiaaBewu, suggested Asare should apologize, stating, “Portia Asare needs to come and apologize to people that It wasn’t her intention to wear that dress…chale I blame the camera man.”

However, users like @tutukuti defended Portia saying, “I don’t see anything wrong with what Portia Asare wore tbh. The question here is why the cameraman focused on it, why the media outlet focused on it, and how it is trending.”

The memorial at the Jubilee House is to honor the eight victims of the tragic Ghana Air Force Z-9 helicopter crash in Adansi Akrofuom, Ashanti Region, on August 6, 2025.
