Ghanaian-American, Ohemaa Nyanin who recently got appointed as The General Manager of Golden State in the WNBA speaks twi at her unveiling

Ohemaa Nyanin, a Ghanaian-American has been announced as the new General Manager of Golden State in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).

During her unveiling, she spoke the local Ghanaian language, Twi, when she was showing appreciation to God and to her family for their support.

She said, “I’d like to thank my village, first and foremost, my grandparents for looking down on me. To my parents, (she said in Twi: I’m grateful, I’m thankful to God for putting me in their hands), their sacrifice and their wisdom they shared with me.”

In a report by the ESPN, “Nyanin, who will begin her tenure on May 13, will oversee all basketball operations and report to Warriors co-executive chairman and CEO Joe Lacob. She will join president Jess Smith in ushering into the league the WNBA’s 13th franchise and first expansion organization since 2008.”
