An Indian man, Shyam Lal Yadav, who was reportedly suffering from a rare condition which caused a “devil horn” to grow on top of his head has successfully undergone surgery to remove it.

The condition is said to have began in 2014 when he bumped his head. He later noticed that a lump has formed at the top of his head where he bumped but he reportedly paid no attention to it till it got painful and grew to a 4-inch horn.
His doctor, Dr. Vishal Gajbhiye told reporters, “Initially, he ignored it as it did not cause any discomfort. Also, he got the growth cut by the local barber. But, when the lump hardened and started growing further, he approached the hospital at Sagar.”

Dr. Gajbhiye revealed when he visited the hospital, he diagnosed Yadav “with a sebaceous horn, also referred to in medical cases as a devil’s horn which typically occurs in a sun-exposed area of the face and hands.”
The procedure to remove the horn, according to the Dr involved removing the growth with a sterile razor, after which he “used a skin graft to close the opening in his head, which has now healed completely.”
