“They are all kings in their territories, Twene Jonas said nothing wrong by calling Asantehene to make his territory great.”- Netizens
Netizens are backing Twene Jonas over his comments about the great king of the Asante kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu for comment he made concerning the fight about Galamsey in Ghana.
According to some Ghanaians, especially people from the Asante kingdom, it is disrespectful for Twene Jonas to pass those comments to their king hence calling on him to apologize with immediate effects.
Jonas got a lot of support from people including KalyJay, a Twitter influencers—- know for the popular harsh tag fix the country, who compares the Otumfuo to the king of Dubai saying; “They are all kings in their territories. Twene Jonas said nothing wrong by calling Asantehene to make his territory great.”

He got reply from a follower who says; “But you realize that one has sovereignty over the entire territory while one is only a king over a people in a country.
Nana Addo is the sovereign but not Asantehene. In Dubai, the Sheikh is the sovereign; the supreme authority. The Asantehene is not. He confirms to sovereign.”
All resources in Dubai are in the trust of the Sheikh. The Asantehene only receives a percentage of royalties paid for resources on his land. Majority is paid to government headed by Nana Addo.
Do you assume Accra is developed cos the Ga Mantse is using his share of royalties?
Don’t confuse the two by comparing the Asantehene to the Sheikh in Dubai.
I agree that the Asantehene can help develop to Kumasi and Ashanti to an extent but to compare what can achieve based on what he has at his disposal to that of the Sheikh in Dubai is really far-fetched.”

It's not far-fetched bossu…there were Kings in the past who had little but did extremely well…with the influence the Asantehene has in his kingdom, anka by now Ashanti Kingdom develop kraaa…

The Asantehene has sources of revenue, and receives lots of donations. What legacy has he created with his immense powers and resources? I used to be a defender of him but I later realized that he has done close to nothing even in Kumasi metropolis alone. It’s a shame.

One is literally wearing his territory on his arm while others have chosen to invest and reap even better benefits.

Twene Jonas said what needed to be said; maybe without the explicit insults though.
I don't get it when some people says he's not the supreme authority here so we can't blame him…. If a king can command a whole city to sleep during his mother burial, what stops him from using the same energy to stop galamsey on his land? @twene_jonas hit them hard for us

I always say this, you people should check your facts before raise certain issues. The Gold does not belong to Asantehene, neither does he collect property rates. The only thing that comes to him is royalties and lease rates.
