MTN Ghana has reportedly purchased the auctioned Otumfuo stamp for GH¢500,000

The official launch of the Asantehene Commemorative Stamp which happened on Saturday, May 4, 2024 saw MTN Ghana purchase the Otumfuo Commemorative Stamp which was auctioned at the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Jubilee Hall, Manhyia Palace in Kumasi for GH¢500,000.

The program, which was hosted by Kwame Sefa Kayi saw a lot of dignitaries including MPs and some chiefs. Otumfuo himself was also present when his stamp was auctioned and bought.

Prior to the event, Ghana Post’s Managing Director, Bice Osei Kuffour, said “the stamp transcends the role of postage instrument and stands as a powerful symbol of Ghana’s deep reverence and admiration for the Asante Kingdom and its esteemed leader.” during an interview.

After MTN purchased the stamp, the host, Kwame Sefa Kayi announced to the hearing of those present that the stamp has been bought by the telecom for GH¢500,000.

He said, “In honour of his majesty, MTN takes it (stamp) for GH¢500,000. Let’s give them a round of applause.”
